Not good value for money
Nice and cooling pool. We enjoyed the food and very relaxing location where you didn't get pestered as much by beach vendors. Good location for kitesurfing. Great location in general and we loved spending time in the evenings at the beachfront.
Pool could have been cleaner Waitresses were not very friendly. Air con did not work very well. It only started working when we complained and got moved to different rooms. We paid a lot of money for 2 rooms and did not like spending time in the rooms due to issues with air con. We were told that it was an issue with power which was due to time of year and during holidays. We had stayed in another similar priced hotel on Paje beach earlier during our stay that had no issues with air con. The upstairs restaurant was out of action and being rebuilt due to a recent fire. The kite school is not there any longer however there are many other schools nearby.

The hotel has an excellent location (hotel's "compound" has direct access to the beach, most staff were cooperative and nice to talk too, awesome scenery (especially the kites)
There were several power outages, and the air conditioner was not working properly (staff explained that its due to the power shortage) making the stay a bit hot.

Loved the vibe and service
We absolutely loved our stay at Maisha Matamu. The location in Paje is fantastic, and the hotel itself has a cozy, boutique feel that makes you instantly relax. Check-in was smooth, parking was easy, and every member of the staff—from reception to restaurant to security—was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very close to the beach, so it is super convenient to pop back and forth during the day. The bar and restaurant are close to the sunbeds, which made the service impressively fast—something we really appreciated. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and overall we had a wonderful time.
The only downside was the sunbeds were very close to each other, and the hotel allowed outside guests to access the beach area with day passes, which made it feel a bit too crowded at times. However if you are looking for a fun and social vibe, it works well.
